Advanced System Care – Help Keep Scammers Away by Cleaning and Secureing Your PC Effectively and Keeping it that Way

Due to recent scams that have taken place, Wickliffe Mayor Joe Sakacs, alongside Police Chief Jonathon Bush and Ward 2 Councilman Randy Gerhardstein, decided to shed light on their experiences with scams and key things people can look for to avoid being scammed.

“Some may say, ‘This is never going to happen to me,’ ” Sakacs said. “I used to say that and it pretty much almost happened to me. I was at a volleyball game two weeks ago and I received a text alert from my bank. It said somebody had withdrawn $525 from my bank and if I needed to stop that, I needed to click. I immediately told my wife to call the bank to see and it was false. I couldn’t believe how it really looked legit.”

Additionally, Sakacs recalled when his neighbor’s grandmother got a call in regard to her electric bill being shut off and that she needs to come up with $150.

“They called and said, ‘We don’t want your electric bill to shut off, but you have to meet us at Marc’s,” Sakacs said. “That’s never going to happen with the electric company. Think about it before it happens. We can only do so much.”

According to Bush, among the scams out there right now are the following:

• Being contacted in regard to a contest never heard of
