Advanced System Care – Help Keep Scammers Away by Cleaning and Secureing Your PC Effectively and Keeping it that Way

Santander has issued a caution to its business customers in the UK about the rising threat of impersonation scams, urging them to remain vigilant against fraudulent individuals posing as bank employees in order to steal funds.

According to the Press Association, the Spanish bank stated that scammers have become more intelligent, as evident from the fact that more than 200 of its corporate and commercial banking clients were victimized in September alone.

A common scam involves a criminal impersonating a representative from a bank’s security or fraud department, claiming to have detected a fraudulent payment. The scammer provides false contact information to supposedly resolve the issue.

In most cases, customers are typically requested to download and use the AnyDesk application, login to their mobile banking, and approve a transaction intended to halt the fraudulent payment. However, this action actually transfers money to the criminal’s account.

According to Chris Ainsley, the head of fraud risk management at Santander UK, impersonation scams are widespread, and the criminals behind them can be extremely cunning in their tactics.
