Advanced System Care – Help Keep Scammers Away by Cleaning and Secureing Your PC Effectively and Keeping it that Way

Indian authorities have closed down two tech support scam operations after receiving a valuable tip from Microsoft and Amazon.

Tech support scammers, who frequently originate from overseas, pose a formidable challenge in terms of apprehending and halting their illicit activities. However, with assistance from Microsoft and Amazon, authorities in India successfully closed down two tech support businesses that had been exploiting customers for more than five years.

India’s Central Bureau of Investigation effectively put an end to the tech support scam operations on Thursday, as a result of a comprehensive crackdown on cybercrime across 76 locations throughout the country.

According to Indian authorities, these reputed tech firms reported that the scammers had apparently pretended to be customer support representatives. It was claimed that these fraudsters would reach out to victims through internet pop-up notifications that deceitfully seemed like security alerts.

Tech support scams frequently aim to instill fear among unsuspecting individuals by suggesting that their computer has a problem. This may involve showing a message on a web browser stating that the computer has been contaminated with a virus. The pop-up will then prompt the target to dial a number, enabling them to communicate with a technical support representative and resolve the issue. However, the truth is that the tech support representative is actually a scammer, typically aiming to deceive the target into giving up their money.
