One such platform that has been targeted is Facebook. Scammers are reportedly hacking into people’s accounts and then using them to solicit money from the victims’ friends lists.

The Jamnagar cybercrime police in India recently arrested two individuals who were part of a larger gang suspected of hacking Facebook accounts. The hackers, Viren Ganatra and Hardik Chohan, reportedly targeted individuals with weak passwords and then contacted their friends lists through those accounts, claiming to be in an emergency and asking for money. In light of this, the police have advised users to maintain strong passwords and be wary of any suspicious messages from people they know.
