Advanced System Care – Help Keep Scammers Away by Cleaning and Secureing Your PC Effectively and Keeping it that Way

Every year, Irish individuals are deprived of €300 million due to phone or text scams, and there is now a risk of fraudsters gaining further advantage through the use of artificial intelligence.

The fraudulent activity initiates with a phone call from an individual pretending to be a representative of your financial institution. The person on the phone requests you to access your account by logging in.

Afterwards, they request you to visit a different webpage that provides a “live chat support” or “to confirm the authenticity of your computer. “

In actuality, this grants the scammer the ability to remotely access your computer, view your screen, and manipulate all your files and software.

Ultimately, the person making the call will arrange for payments to be made through your online banking. They will request that you verbally provide the unique security code from your bank’s application to authorize these payments.

The fraudulent tactic known as the “live chat” scam has existed for a considerable period of time.

The initial occurrence was documented on mainland Europe. It subsequently extended its reach to the United Kingdom and Australia before finally arriving at our current location.

Last week, the Bank of Ireland issued a cautionary message to its business clients, advising them to stay alert. AIB recently cautioned that scammers are approaching individuals using deceitful websites, posing as reputable financial service providers and offering seemingly genuine products.

The fraudsters distribute seemingly authentic materials, such as well-crafted brochures, to individuals by utilizing genuine names and job positions of individuals associated with AIB or other banks.

Once the victim completes the signing of all fraudulent documents, they are then requested to transfer funds to an account that they later discover is not associated with the legitimate financial services company. Instead, this account is under the control of the scammer, who now possesses the victim’s money.
