At present, scammers are contacting both business and retail clients by phone, falsely identifying themselves as employees of CommBank and the fraud department of CommBank.

These scammers are highly skilled at persuasion and will send a deceptive text message pretending to be from CommBank, including a phony authorization code, in order to “confirm” your identity. They will subsequently request you to recite the false authorization code as a means of verifying your identity.

CommBank has a policy of never using SMS to confirm your identity or requesting passwords, NetCodes, or tokens from you.

If you receive an unanticipated call from CommBank, you have the option to utilize CallerCheck to confirm its authenticity.
