Advanced System Care – Help Keep Scammers Away by Cleaning and Secureing Your PC Effectively and Keeping it that Way

Clerk of Court Angela Vick has issued a warning to citizens, cautioning them about the prevalence of jury duty scams in the area. Scammers, often posing as clerk employees, law enforcement officers, or other government officials, have been making fraudulent calls to local residents, threatening arrest unless a sum of money is paid. Vick stresses that these calls are unequivocally scams.

To protect yourself from falling victim to such schemes, the Clerk of Court recommends the following safety measures:

Jury Duty Summons by Mail: Legitimate jury duty summonses are exclusively delivered through the mail. If you receive a phone call or email regarding jury duty, consider it a potential scam.

Ignore Unsolicited Calls: In the absence of a formal summons, do not engage with any unsolicited calls from individuals claiming to be associated with jury duty.

Protect Personal Information: Never share personal or financial information with unknown callers, especially if they employ aggressive tactics.

Payment Methods: Be wary of any requests for payment through methods such as gift cards, PayPal, or other online payment forms. Scammers have been contacting Citrus County residents, falsely alleging that they’ve missed jury duty and demanding fines via various online payment methods.
