In a recent survey conducted by the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) in Singapore, 1,052 individuals were asked about their ability to detect scams on messaging platforms. The survey revealed encouraging levels of confidence among respondents in spotting such fraudulent activities.

According to the survey, 67% of individuals between the ages of 15 and 29 expressed moderate to high levels of confidence in detecting scams.

However, it is actually true that young individuals lack the necessary knowledge to identify scams effectively.

The police’s latest report on scams, published on September 13th, reveals that young individuals make up the majority of scam victims. Specifically, 508% of those deceived fall into the adult age range of 20 to 39 years old.

MCI conducted a survey in Singapore to gauge the opinions and feelings of 1,052 residents aged 15 and above regarding scams.

On Thursday, at Toa Payoh’s News Centre, MCI disclosed the outcome of the survey during a Mandarin conversation event held in collaboration with Reach, UFM100. 3 radio station, and Shin Min Daily News, a Chinese-language newspaper.
